WELCOME TO OUR
School, a NSW Government school, was established in 1852 and has a proud
tradition of pursuing academic, sporting and cultural excellence. Our school has
a current enrolment of 667 children. We have a split site school with our Kinder
and Yr1 students on their own campus situated in Mary Street, a short walk
from our primary campus located on Queen Street. Our support units integrate mainstream with students of
special needs in a caring and nurturing environment.
All classrooms at GPS are air conditioned,
have interactive whiteboards, and an integrated sound system. IPads are
available for use for K - 1 years. The Infants Campus employs both wired and
wireless technologies. Classrooms for Grades K - 1 have infra red
hearing/speaker systems.All classes 2 - 6 have Windows
Laptops as part of their classroom technologies and the Primary Campus also
employs both wireless and wired technologies.All classes have access to well equipped computer labs on
both the Mary Street and Queen Street sites.
We have an active Creative Arts Program within the school. This
includes a large concert band, choir and dance groups which regularly perform
intrastate. Over a third of our students are active participants in one of these

stocked and current, incorporating many different forms of media including

Both of our campuses have play equipment which is fully
compliant with Australian Safety Standards.
Our Primary Campus also has a full
size basketball court which will be fully shaded in the near future.
The school recognises the importance of
Aboriginal culture and traditions and recently opened a 'yarning circle' to be
used as an outdoor learning area.
